When I kicked off this parenting gig, I had it all perfectly lined out. I had the baby book at the ready AND a blank stork-themed calendar that would allow me to make daily entries recording notes about my son’s activities and development after he was born. It was a gorgeous affair–that lasted for a solid 3 months. Six years and another child later, that calendar is long lost (I never even started one for my poor, neglected second-child) and I still have entries I need to fill out in both kids’ baby books. Yup, it’s that sad.
Even sadder is that I’m decently organized person. As in, I usually have my ducks in at least a semblance of a row. So what went wrong? Why couldn’t I keep up with tracking my kids’ development? Two reasons: life got busy and the baby books, while lovely keepsakes, weren’t convenient.
Enter Lyfeline Milestones, a Parenting App that enables parents to analyze, track, and promote their child’s development through their phone. In less than 5 minutes, Milestones takes parents through a complete 5-point personalized development assessment of their child(ren) based on standards set by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and World Health Organization (WHO). This assessment consists of a series of age-specific developmental questions that provide an in-depth look into your child’s fine and gross motor, language, social and self-help developmental progress.
These questions are not overwhelming, I promise! They are short and easy to answer, even in the most overwhelmed state of these-kids-are-making-me-lose-my-mind. The assessment quickly pops results back at you, in the form of percentile benchmarking relative to the child’s age group.
Can you trust these results? YES! Milestones was developed through ten years of study with researchers and pediatricians from Stanford and USCF. It is professional, smart and the real, accurate deal! In fact, this app is one of the only Pediatrician recommended parenting apps.
Why is it so cool? Aside from the fact that it helps you keep tabs of your child’s development while making sure they are on track, they are loads of other helpful features, like hundreds of fun, age-appropriate activities to do with your child and regular weekly contests where users can win Amazon and Target Gift Cards, just for using the app! Sweet!
Does it really work? For this one, let’s turn to the stats: during the soft BETA Launch, over 10,000 users signed up with rave reviews, the majority discovering the app organically through the word of mouth. Yeah, it works.
How much does it cost? NOTHING. Let me repeat that: it’s free to download both on Google Play and App Store.
So why shouldn’t you download this app? No reason. No, like really, there’s no conceivable reason under the sun.
True story? I missed the early boat with my kids, who are now 4 and 6. Now, their milestones aren’t as frequent and tricky to celebrate, but I am thoroughly enjoying using this app for my baby niece and sharing it with a friend who has a little one. Milestones makes it easy to share a child’s growth with friends and family–parenting is a group experience, after all!
While I delight in following along with the young ones in my life, I’d rely on this app for my own babies as a record-keeper. Since my phone is always with me, the app is perfect for recording all their day-to-day moments so by the time I got around to updating those baby books, the facts and dates wouldn’t be lost. In short, I’d depend on it to be “my memory” in the crazy midst of my day-to-day.
The thing is, parents are so busy keeping up with their kids, they don’t always have time to keep track of them. So let Lyfeline Milestones do the work! It’s free, it’s easy, and it’s a Godsend, I promise!
Focus on enjoying the moments with your kids and leave the note-taking to Milestones.
*****Thanks to Lyfeline Milestones for sponsoring this post so I could share their cool app with all of you! I genuinely think it’s boss, no-brainer parenting hack you should all swoop up now!*****

Definitely wish I had this when both my girls were little as just like you life totally got in the way and the baby books fell to the way side even in the best of intentions. So truly awesome and think a great resource to new parents nowadays! 😉

What a cool idea! Would have saved me from the award pauses at the pediatrician when the were like “How many words does she have now?” and I was like “Uh…I dunno….should I count them real quick?” Also for shutting down nosey relatives who like to say things like, “Isn’t he too old for that? So-and-So didn’t [insert whatever] any more at that age. I’m sure of it.” Nope, it’s a totally normal stage of development. See? Booya.

Ha! I know, right? And great point–it would be so handy in many circumstances to have your stats handy. Anything to keep us moms looking like we have ourselves together 😉
