My son is almost 3 and we have been to Chuck E. Cheese 3 times now. The first time, we were drawn there by a party and I was filled with a sense of dread prior to our visit. Surely, this would be a disaster, and my 15 mo. old would have no idea what to do there? Wrong! He loved it. Granted, I left with a decent migraine and seeking a sedative as the environment is pure chaos on steroids, but my son had a blast. He thought the little toddler play area was the coolest thing ever and beamed the entire time.

In our two re-visits, we’ve tried to be smart–go at off-times so it’s not insanely crowded, take along a grandparent so we had some extra help running herd, use coupons, go with low expectations and a loose time frame (if they get grouchy and we want to leave, we will), etc. Each time, the kids’ faces have lit up like Christmas, and it’s just been very cool.
Granted, we have only been 3 times and have yet to break into the big kid section at all, but each time we’ve gone, it’s been a pleasant surprise. I think Chuck E. may be giving the other great mouse (Mickey, obviously), a run for his money…
If Chuck E. is your passenger, why sit if you can stand? (she is blurry b/c she is vibrating…;) ) |
