…wins. Sad, but true. Examples: dog barking psychotically at whomever graces our threshold–I must immediately tend to his pacification or risk upsetting the entire household (the importance of this during naptime cannot be underscored enough!); my son begging repeatedly for a juice refill results in his wish granted b/c my tolerance for gratiating noise is low; when my daughter works her high-pitched princess cry b/c she is not getting her desired attention, she rules the roost; above all, when Mommy throws a temper tantrum, everyone else better shut up and let her have her fit b/c she seriously needs to let off some steam and feel “heard”. So yes, idyllic calmly peaceful household? Not so much. But hey, at least no one can accuse my family of being “low energy”.
