Okay, does this disturb anyone else but me? Seriously, I’m all for modern technology (not really), but I consider my obsessive online bargain shopping to be a relatively private affair. So no, when I am busy creating my “dream cart” at disneystore.com (words I never imagined myself typing before I had a toddler), and an online operator pops up in a dialog box to ask me if I need help finding my item, I am SO not down with that. Can you say, “INVASION OF PRIVACY”. I guess this is similar to when I actually used to leave the house and go to Gap and would get instantly jumped on by overeager teenage sales clerks seeking to assist me in locating my perfect pair of jeans…BACK OFF!!! I shop, and I buy, but I do it on my own terms. Seriously people, women’s self-empowerment is so last decade–don’t make me fight and defend my right to psychotically bargain-hunt at my own ridiculously-slow nap-time leisure…
