I believe there are angels on this earth, and my family has been blessed with more than we can count in the past week. The subject of this particular blog is a woman whom I met for the first time Thurs. morning. Apparently this angel spent time Thurs. night researching activities that my son could enjoy in his particular situation. She then went out and bought, organized and delivered the things I would need for these activities to my door on Friday morning. It has been awesome to watch my son play with and enjoy these distractions. I can’t tell you how happy it made us to watch him beam as he played with his “treasure hunt” (a pan of cornmeal with tiny toys for him to find with cups and plasticware for digging tools). His delight lasted for over an hour last night (a true miracle in our current state). The thoughtfulness of my new friend taught me that sometimes, when life hands you lemons, you just get out the (indoor) sandbox–because who really has time to make lemonade anyway?? I also learned that Mommy and Daddy REALLY need to invest in a dustbuster 😉
