So many of us want to do something to help, but if you’re like me, maybe you haven’t been quite sure where to start.  God bless the incredible bloggers who organized and who are supporting this:

Any money raised will go The Newtown Family Youth and Family Services. The official description of this organization:

“Newtown Youth and Family Services, Inc. is a licensed, non-profit, mental health clinic and youth services bureau dedicated to helping children and families achieve their highest potential. NYFS provides programs, services, activities, counseling, support groups and education throughout the Greater Newtown area.

ANY DONATIONS MADE TO NEWTOWN YOUTH AND FAMILY SERVICES WILL BE DONATED DIRECTLY TO THOSE EFFECTED BY THE SANDY HOOK ELEMENTARY SCHOOL SHOOTING.”

Please visit THIS PAGE to make your donation.

Once again, I am wowed and so thankful for the incredible force of bloggers when they join together.  If anyone else wants to hop in with this, please feel free to copy or re-post any part of this post.  Thanks to everyone joining together for this effort and prayers, so very many prayers for Sandy Hook…

Meredith blogs at The Mom of the Year, dedicatedly earning her title one epic parenting fail at a time. When her kids aren't busy pummeling each other with Legos or requiring their 16th sippy cup refill of the day, she tries to offer quick, relatable laughs for fellow parents of the world and all their empathizers. She remains entirely terrified by crafts, promises to never share any useful household tips, and is fully committed to a less serious look at the world of parenting.

I am doing the blogger silence. We also collected money collectively on a few sites this weekend for the family of Ben Wheeler (one of the little boys who was killed) and am just so amazed by all the support and kindness of so many. Thanks for sharing on here about the blogger day of silence and donations be collected :)

Meredith, is there a specific day set aside for the day of silence? I am also going to do the 20acts/26acts of random kindness in honor of the victims. Thanks for sharing this.

Yesterday was the specific day for this, Kathy, but I think it works whenever. And I’ve heard about the 20acts/26acts! What a beautiful, perfect way to honor them…
